About ARU:
We are ranked in the world’s top 350 institutions in the 2022 Times Higher Education World University Rankings, and we are a global university transforming lives through innovative, inclusive, and entrepreneurial education and research. Our research institutes and four faculties bridge scientific, technical, and creative fields. We deliver impactful research which tackles pressing issues and makes a real difference to our communities. Our academic excellence has been recognised by the UK’s Higher Education funding bodies, with 16 of our research areas assessed as world leading. In 2021, we were awarded the Queen’s Anniversary Prize for our world-leading music therapy work.
About the Role:
At ARU we have committed to bring about ‘a step change in our research capacity to maximise its impact for the communities we serve’ and position us to become a distinctive University that is entrepreneurial in nature. We are actively investing in three major ARU wide Research, Innovation, and Impact (RI&I) themes including, Health, Performance and Wellbeing, Safe Inclusive Communities and Sustainable Futures. Themes reflect ARU successful REF 2021 outcome which acknowledged that ARU already has significant critical mass in research, innovation and impact activities and have already attracted significant levels of external investment over the past three years.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager to join our team on a 12-month Fixed Term Contract working closely with our Project and Marketing Officer to support our ambition, engagement, and support internal/external marketing and communications activity.
Each leadership team impact plan will comprise a vast array of activities requiring support, including developing/managing resources to underpin research groupings, supporting liaison and delivery activities with external partners including engagement activities, facilitating approaches to visiting academics and honorary professionals associated with each theme and supporting active links through to students and taught course curricula. The creation of impact beyond ARU and the internal and external visibility of that impact through marketing and communications for each theme is essential and the successful applicant will be required to support this.
You will coordinate a highly visible work programme, liaising with the ARU strategic plan governance group to support the process for approval of the impact plans and to agree investment. Working with each theme leadership team you will support the development, delivery, and reporting of progress, including preparations for annual reporting to the ARU Research and Innovation Committee.
You will have a degree and appropriate level of experience and evidence of continuing professional development relevant to the role or be part qualified, You will also have experience in project management ideally from an HE environment to deliver a customer focussed support.
This role is an exciting opportunity to be part of a new ARU initiative supporting our strategic ambitions and would suit a project manager, coordinator or support officer experienced in project management, senior stakeholder management, data analysis and reporting, and administration with a keen interest in working to deliver research, innovation, and societal impact.
