Lecturer in Forensic Science
About us: The School of Applied Sciences in the College of Health, Science and Society, is seeking to recruit a Lecturer to support our very popular and expanding Forensic programmes and our growing research profile.
This is a full-time 1 year fixed-term role that will focus on teaching. The post holder will support students on our Undergraduate and Postgraduate forensic courses relating to Forensic Science. This includes BSc (Hons) and MSci Forensic Science and the MSc Forensic Science.
Working within a committed and enthusiastic team, the post-holder will contribute to course planning, teaching and assessment. The post-holder will support students on these programmes by supervising undergraduate and postgraduate research projects. Preference will be given to applicants who can evidence expertise in either forensic biology or forensic chemistry with some knowledge of crime scene science.

About you: Candidates will be expected to have professional practice experience and a Masters level qualification or a PhD relevant to the forensic sciences. We are seeking someone experienced in teaching Forensic Science. Preference will be given to candidates with experience of forensic biology, forensic chemistry or crime scene science. Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate experience of devising and delivering teaching related to forensic science. The post holder may also be required to support teaching teams on other programmes within the School.
We are looking for candidates who align to the UWE values. Successful candidates should be able to demonstrate their experience of leading and motivating groups of people, collegiate working and their organisational skills. Successful candidates will be expected to demonstrate how they will keep abreast of latest developments in this subject area and external best practice benchmarks.
The successful candidate will be supported in this role by an experienced senior lecturer as a mentor. The School provides staff development funds to support personal and subject related training for academic staff.
