The National Co-ordinating Centre for Public Engagement (NCCPE) is looking for an experienced Communications professional to take the lead on developing and delivering our communications activity for the Centre. You will shape our strategy and delivery plans, oversee all our communication channels, develop content to showcase the Centre’s work and support the NCCPE Directors and Team to maximise the impact of our work. You will play a critical role in ensuring we continue to build our reputation as experts in public engagement and as a change agent in the higher education sector.
This is a part-time, fixed-term post for 2 years, working 22.5 hours per week.
About the NCCPE:
The NCCPE is an agile and entrepreneurial organization which seeks to support culture change in the UK higher education (HE) sector. Our mission is to help universities create social value through increasing the quality and impact of their public engagement activity. We do this by supporting excellent public engagement practice; creating the conditions for public engagement to thrive in universities; and building strong networks and partnerships to amplify our impact. We are funded by UKRI, Research England, Wellcome, Higher Education Funding Council for Wales. Scottish Funding Council and the Department for Employment and Learning, Northern Ireland. The Centre is jointly hosted by University of the West of England (UWE) and University of Bristol (UoB), benefitting from being part of two vibrant universities.
This role is being recruited through UWE Bristol.
About you:
You will be looking for a part-time role that makes the most of your skills and experience as a marketing and communications professional and enables you to further shape and enhance the NCCPE’s reputation as a national centre of expertise in public engagement. You will have experience of all aspects of communications work including drafting strategies and plans, writing copy for multiple audiences to a high standard and working on NCCPE’s behalf across multiple communications channels.
You will have real expertise in digital communications advising us on excellent practice and with a proven ability to use web analytics tools to further refine our digital strategy. You will be happy to plan for and support NCCPE’s events including our annual ‘Engage’ conference and to horizon scan on behalf of the Centre for opportunities to share our work and catalyse change. You will be equally comfortable working independently or as part of NCCPE’s team and able to communicate confidently and effectively with colleagues, external partners, and stakeholders.
