This role will be based on the University campus, with scope for it to be undertaken in a hybrid manner. We are also open to discussing flexible working arrangements.
Are you passionate about supporting data-driven EDI decision making at a senior level, through data visualisation, analysis and insight? Are you interested in helping to transform our current equality data into a high quality, meaningful resource for use in strategy planning and decision making at the University?
The University of Leeds is one of the top 135 universities in the world. We have a truly global community, with more than 39,000 students from 170 different countries and over 9,000 staff of 100 different nationalities. Established in 1904, we have a strong tradition of academic excellence, reflected in first-class student education, along with world-leading research that has a real impact around the globe.
Based within the Equality and Inclusion Unit, you will lead on transforming the way we collate, analyse and strategically engage with EDI data at the University. You will have responsibility for improving the quality of staff and student equality data and be the lead for equality-related data analysis and presentation for statutory reporting and internal decision making. You will work in partnership with subject matter experts across the institution, both in areas of management information and EDI, to create high-quality reporting methods and outputs.
You will have experience working with complex datasets and knowledge of EDI matters, including awareness of best practice and appropriate language. You will be able to create engaging, visual outputs and communicate findings from data analyses to suit different target audiences, including the University Executive Group. You must be able to work flexibly and independently, reprioritising as needed, while meeting deadlines.
This role reports to the Director of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, but will have strong working relationships with the Management Information Team, the EDI Deans and the Business Intelligence and Data Analytics (BIDA) in Strategy & Planning. You will be responsible for leading the data elements of the EDI Strategy and project working groups.
