We are seeking an Open Access and Repository Assistant to join the Open Access Collections Team within the Bodleian Libraries, working to facilitate access to University of Oxford research, whilst supporting the maintenance and development of the Oxford University Research Archive (ORA) .
The postholder will be primarily responsible for reviewing material deposited by Oxford academics to and making this material available through the ORA website. As part of the review process the postholder will ensure that a deposit complies with copyright and other regulations affecting the dissemination of the work; assist the authors with depositing their work to ORA and understanding their responsibilities with regards to policies affecting their research publications; enhance the metadata for this material, and full text files to maximise the interaction and engagement with the research content; and support the ORA helpdesk.
This post provides a great opportunity to transfer the “traditional” bibliographic skills of cataloguing and authority control to the newer and still-developing area of research output data management.
The postholder will be computer literate, have experience working with a database or structured records and have good attention to detail. Good interpersonal and communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently are essential.
Our staff and students come from all over the world, and we proudly promote a friendly and inclusive culture. Diversity is positively encouraged, through diverse groups and champions, as well as a number of family-friendly policies, such as the right to apply for flexible working and support for staff returning from periods of extended absence, for example shared parental leave.
Only applications received online before midday Wednesday 15 February 2023 can be considered. You will be required to upload a supporting statement as part of your online application. Your supporting statement should list each of the essential and desirable selection criteria, as listed in the further particulars, and explain how you meet each one. CVs will not form part of the selection process.
Interviews are expected to take place on 1 March 2023.
