Our Careers Programmes team are looking for someone to join us as a Career Programme Officer. Together, we build and deliver a range of support experience gaining programmes for students, from being paired with a successful professional for mentoring, to sourcing and supporting over 100 internal internships a year. We work directly with students to create our social mobility programme and ensure all students have the tools and access to extra-curricular opportunities to develop through our bespoke digital platform.
In this role, you will be at the centre of bringing together our students with our careers’ experts, academics, employers and alumni to meet our high-impact goals for each programme. It will be up to you to think ahead and creatively problem solve to ensure students are getting the best experience they can. You’ll need capture what’s happening so that we can demonstrate the power of our programmes for raising aspirations and providing the experiences and tools our students need to succeed. Then we’ll work together to sustain and grow innovative career programmes for the future.

Department
The Student Development service enables an integrated approach towards student skills development, through the delivery of employability and careers services, academic skills support and student engagement expertise, in order to ensure that every student has the skills and experiences necessary for success in securing a good degree outcome and a successful graduate employment outcome.
Duties of the Role
The postholder will support with the planning, coordination, delivery and evaluation of high-quality careers programmes delivered to students/graduates. These programmes include on-campus Frontrunner internships, Career Mentoring, the Big Essex Award, our development platform Chart My Path and our social mobility initiative, Rising Stars.

Student Development operate a hybrid-working model, with the Career Programmes team currently working two or three days in the office each week.
