The Centre for Medical Informatics at the Usher Institute within The University of Edinburgh is looking for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to work with an interdisciplinary team of researchers on the implications of artificial intelligence (AI) for healthcare practitioners, practices and organisations.
The Opportunity:
Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to work on an exciting research project examining the implications of artificial intelligence (AI) for healthcare. The project focuses on the real-world effects of AI on clinicians (e.g., tasks, roles, skills, expertise), practices (e.g., diagnostic workflows, care delivery pathways) and the healthcare system.
The two-year, full-time position offers an opportunity to work closely with Dr Luciana D’Adderio (the project’s Principal Investigator) and her extended multidisciplinary team including experts in the Social Sciences (Business/Management, Organization Science/Studies, Information Systems, Healthcare Innovation), Artificial Intelligence and Medicine.
The Postdoctoral Fellow will be based at the University of Edinburgh’s Usher Institute, a leading academic innovation hub combining a strong interdisciplinary research culture, an unrivalled focus on AI and data-driven innovation for medicine and healthcare, and an emphasis on state-of-the-art research and real-world impacts.
