About the Role

We are looking to appoint two Lecturers in Computer Science to support our ongoing research and the teaching expansion in our Joint Programme/Joint Education Institution with Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications (BUPT).

About You

To apply, you should have a PhD and must have an appropriate track-record of high quality research in the field of Computer Science. It is essential that you have clear and ambitious plans for your future research and are able to develop research proposals and effectively manage subsequent awards. Queen Mary is a signatory of DORA declaration, and as such the quality of your research will be judged on its own merits.

The posts also require an effective communicator of new and complex ideas, in both verbal and written form, and the ability to engage the interest and enthusiasm of the target audience. The posts are based in London but you will spend a significant amount of time in Beijing for teaching and assessment so you must therefore be able to travel regularly to China. You will have teaching experience in Higher Education and able to deliver teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level in the following areas, but not exclusively: Software Engineering, Advanced Network Programming, Introduction to Artificial Intelligence, Image and/or Video Processing.

The posts are based at the Mile End Campus in London and are full time, permanent appointments available immediately; the successful candidates must be in post by 1 August 2023. Starting salary will be in the range of £44,931 - £55,805 per annum inclusive of London Allowance. A UK Lecturer is equivalent to Assistant Professor in the USA.
