This exciting role will help increase participation, support talent and provide an opportunity for young people to enjoy playing sport.

QMSU represents and supports over 30,000 students who make up the diverse and vibrant student body at Queen Mary, University of London.

The Community Foundation Coordinator will be responsible for planning, delivering, and monitoring a coordinated programme of high-quality sporting activities driven by a student workforce which is progressive and reflective of the needs of young people in schools and in the local community. The programme should look to link school, community and club provision whilst aiming to provide sporting opportunities that are reflective of the current best practice and address key social needs. The ideal candidate will be organised, have a keen attention to detail and have excellent time management skills. The primary tasks of this role are assisting with:

  • To plan, deliver and monitor a coordinated programme of high-quality sporting activities driven by a student workforce which is progressive and reflective of the needs of young people in schools and in the local community. The programme should look to link school, community, and club provision whilst aiming to provide sporting opportunities that are reflective of the current best practice and address key social needs.
  • To increase opportunities for young people to enjoy participation in sport with clear, worthwhile, aims and objectives at the heart of the programme. To be aware of and seek out relevant funding opportunities, both internally and externally, and to work with the Deputy Head of Sport to write successful funding applications in these areas.

  • To organise and provide a recreational holiday camp offer to the borough’s young people, considering all health and safety implications, creating a safe and innovative event.

Applicants should have excellent communication skills and the ability to work with a wide range of people. Experience or familiarity of working within a sporting and/or student environment would be desirable. Candidates must have the ability to work well under pressure, prioritise a varied workload and meet deadlines.

The post is a full-time, permanent post. Salary will be in the range £29,642 - £36,348 per annum inclusive of London Allowance.
