The Directorate of Marketing, Communications and International is excited to be recruiting two permanent Student Recruitment Officers. The Student Recruitment Officer (Regional) is an essential post in the University’s ambitions to grow both undergraduate and postgraduate student numbers at the Ipswich campus.

About the role

Two posts available, to cover specific regions of the UK and will therefore be predominantly based from home. Applicants will be required to live in either one of these county groups and travel to the others listed in that group as part of normal day-to-day activity. Travel expenses/mileage will be paid.

  1. 1.Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Cambridgeshire, South Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire.
  2. Kent, Sussex, Surrey.

These posts will be expected to visit the University approximately every two months for meetings, training and to support on-campus recruitment events.

You will be responsible for account managing a group of schools and colleges and delivering presentations and workshops in schools and colleges normally within a 2-hour radius of your home base. You will organise academic engagement and on-campus recruitment events (e.g., taster days and subject conferences). You will also support the work to increase national recruitment, by attending large Higher Education fairs that take place across England and Wales.

The travel commitment at busy periods of the year will require you to be in schools and colleges on most days of a week.

About you

You should be passionate about Higher Education and keen to support the University in our aim to have a community of 10,000 students on the Ipswich campus by 2030.

To be successful, you should be:                                                   

  • A confident and engaging presenter to groups of up to 150 Year 12 students.
  • Able to communicate with young people in the delivery of workshops.
  • Have excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Interested in understanding more about the sector and able to communicate information in an age-appropriate way.

Due to the nature of the role, you should be flexible and willing to work unsociable hours and weekend work.
