About the vacancy:
The University has an ambitious 2030 People Strategy and we are seeking an experienced Systems Manager to lead our development and grow the data and MI capability of our HR and Payroll System (MHR iTrent).
You will be responsible for developing knowledge and insight in our systems solution to enhance our processes, producing high quality data and management information that will ensure an intuitive user experience. Leading a small team, you will report straight into to the Assistant Director of People and Organisational Development.
Collaborating with other HR teams and stakeholders will be vital in understanding priorities to deliver an inclusive and consistent customer service within agreed timescales, enabling better decision-making across the university.
About you:
You will have a breadth and depth of data and systems management experience in a large complex organisation, with recognised specialist expertise and knowledge in database systems. You will be a systems professional with a passion for working in HR & Payroll and experience in implementing and developing HR systems, preferably iTrent and Business Objects.
You will have a system thinking approach to eliminate non-value-adding processes and design an efficient and customer-focused service. You will need to be a capable people manager who can drive performance, delegate, and prioritise workload. You will have experience of managing and developing ITrent (or a similar HR and payroll system). Knowledge of ITrent configuration is desirable.
You will have strong analytical skills with a passion for innovation, knowledge, and data management. You will have knowledge and experience of business and statutory governance reporting.
This business-critical role will draw upon your project management and communication skills, your experience of stakeholder engagement, experience of team leadership and your ability to work confidently with, challenge and negotiate with internal stakeholders and 3rd parties to understand the business needs and build relationships.
