The Department of Clinical Neurosciences is a large progressive academic research Department studying the nervous system to find new treatments for neurological disorders such as Dementia and Alzheimer's Disease. We also study neurosurgical topics, addressing care and patient support for those affected by traumatic brain injury and other disorders of the nervous system. Research from the Department has real life impact, and we now have an exciting opportunity for an established Finance professional to support this impact in the position of Senior Finance Coordinator.
Working in close liaison with the Department Business Management Team, the Senior Finance Coordinator will manage all Finance matters such as, the costing, monitoring and reporting of the department's multi-million-pound research grant budgets, department 'core' and Major Research Facility budgets, plus extensive general ledger activity. They will collaborate with Finance colleagues internally and externally to the University to deliver efficient and friendly Finance support.
Recent staff survey data showed that 84% of staff consider the Department to be a great place to work. This post will lead the Finance Team, maximizing income generation and efficiency in financial procedures, whilst advising and supporting all staff, including the Business and Operations Manager and Head of Department, to further enhance the positive working experience for all staff.
The role is based on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus and on confirmation of your appointment, the successful candidate will adopt the Department's hybrid working model, consisting of days of work at home and days of work alongside other members of the Operations Team on site.
