The Centre for Learning Innovation and Quality (CLIQ) is a team of educational experts providing leadership and support in Kaplan International Pathways’ key business areas of academic development, quality assurance, and partnership development by offering timely and effective solutions, and focused support services. 

Evidence-based development and innovation is at the core of what we do:

We set quality expectations of our educational products and services, we safeguard and measure standards. We work closely with staff from Kaplan Pathways Colleges in the UK and business departments, staff from other Kaplan Business Units, our university and non-university business partners in the UK and overseas, and our regulatory reviewers, to ensure that Kaplan offers the highest quality education to its students.

The Role:

CLIQ has a need for a Project Developer for existing and future employability projects within Kaplan International Pathways. The role of the Project Developer is to drive the implementation of the Kaplan International Pathways Employability Framework across our network of colleges. The Project Developer will also seek new opportunities to help our students develop the career skills to thrive in a rapidly changing world after graduation.

The successful candidate will: 

  • Analyse the impact and effectiveness of the Employability Framework and existing career-readiness initiatives in Kaplan International Pathways 
  • Seek feedback, make recommendations for and implement continuous improvement of the Employability Framework and existing employability initiatives 
  • Collaborate with colleagues in Kaplan and third-party providers to implement new employability initiatives for Kaplan International Pathways students and alumni 
  • Ensure all elements of the Employability Framework are consistently integrated into our student experience
  • Disseminate findings on the impact of our employability initiatives, both within Kaplan International Pathways and externally
  • Work closely with the Content Executive (Student Stories) and the Kaplan Pathways Editorial Team to support them in the development of engaging and effective student story content
  • Support UK Pathways staff to integrate employability into their work with students
  • Maintain Kaplan International Pathways staff awareness of employability trends and activities among our university partners and in the UK Higher Education sector at large.
  • Any other duties as required by the CLIQ Senior Management Team 

From time to time, the Project Developer may also be expected to

  • Manage human resources for career-readiness initiatives, including recruitment and management of temporary staff and freelancers 

Candidate profile 

The successfully appointed candidate will have:

Essential

  • A minimum Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in educational enhancement projects
  • Experience leading career-readiness programmes for university graduates
  • Experience of learning content design and creation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A strong ability to analyse and think critically
  • High attention to detail, ability to implement relevant quality assurance processes and excellent proofreading skills 
  • Strong ability to prioritise and work to meet tight deadlines 
  • Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work flexibly, as part of a team and independently
  • The ability to work effectively online, in a remote team
  • Strong ICT skills including advanced skills in the Microsoft Office suite, and web-based resources

Desirable

  • Experience of embedding employability initiatives in educational curricula
  • Experience in designing and delivering staff training
  • Experience of working in a geographically dispersed team and in co-operation with freelance staff
  • A good working knowledge of virtual learning environments (e.g. Moodle VLE) and other e-tools commonly used in education
  • High tolerance for ambiguity and ability to facilitate the development of projects from their earliest stages
  • Full respect for confidentiality
