The Department for Continuing Education is the University’s centre for lifelong learning situated in the heart of Oxford. The Department provides a wide variety of meals and dining for both students and external clients across its sites and provides an excellent opportunity to grow your culinary skills.
Due to high levels of business over the Spring and Summer period, the Department is currently seeking to recruit a Chef de Partie. You will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals and fine dining for events and private bookings. To succeed in this role, you will have previous experience in a working kitchen as a Commis Chef and the potential to prepare a meal for 30 persons on your own. You will also have good communication skills (both written and verbal), flexibility and adaptability in your approach to work, willingness to learn and an awareness of health and safety standards and requirements.

This is a full-time position working 36.5 hours per week, five out of seven days (mostly straight shifts) and is for a six-month fixed-term period. The Department operates for 50 weeks of the year and usually closes over the Christmas and New Year period.
