The Oxford Department of International Development is seeking to recruit a Project Coordinator, Choosing Islamic Conservatism (Maternity Cover). Reporting to the PI, the post holder will be a member of a research group working under a European Research Council Advanced Grant titled Choosing Islamic Conservatism. The project is using a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods to study intergenerational transmission of Islamic knowledge among Muslim communities in the West. The project focuses on five countries: UK, Germany, France, Austria, and Bosnia.
The postholder will give general co-ordination and administrative support to the Principle Investigator (PI) in overseeing day to day coordination of the project. They will oversee the data management of the project and assist with budget preparation for any new funding proposals. They will also work with the PI and research officers to organise project meetings, workshops and conferences.
The successful candidate will have proven relevant administrative experience, outstanding organisational skills and excellent interpersonal and communication skills. They will also have proven numeracy skills and experience of working with budgets and analysing and producing financial reports. A high degree of computer literacy including word processing, email, databases and spreadsheets; use and development of online resources such as calendars is essential to this role.
The post is a part-time (30% FTE with the possibility to increase to 60% FTE) maternity leave cover and is tenable until July 2024, to start in June 2023.
