Annual Leave: 25 days plus standard public holidays and an additional 4 days including the closure of our office between Christmas and New Year.

Location: MacLaurin Building, Bishops Square Campus, Hatfield

We are looking for two motivated and pro-active people to join the Projects & Business Support team in Academic Registry.

Main duties and responsibilities

Based in the MacLaurin building and on College Lane, but expected to move round the campus as required, the successful postholders will provide either business support to the Academic Registry teams in the Innovation Hub, or administrative support to the Academic Registrar and business support to the Academic Registry teams in the Maclaurin building.

Your work will cover a wide range of different administrative tasks. The Business Support Officer will provide a comprehensive service to the Academic Registrar, for example, managing diaries, clerking meetings and organising events. The Projects and Business Support Officer will support the delivery of change management at the University and provide administrative support across the Strategic Business Unit.

You will be the procurement expert within the team and provide high quality business support across a range of office activities.

Skill and experience required

You will have appropriate proven administrative experience in a complex and dynamic organisation. Experience of working within Higher Education administration would be advantageous.

You will have very good IT skills, including the use of MSOffice, including MS Teams and Sharepoint, and will also be able to demonstrate a good understanding of customer care. 

You will also have excellent organisation, planning and administrative skills, be able to record information from meetings in a written format; and communicate in a variety of formats to different audiences.

You will have a methodical approach and attention to detail, whilst working accurately under pressure to tight deadlines and to strict confidentiality.

You must have a can-do attitude to problem-solving and be flexible and adaptable with workload, working as a team player. You will have the ability to deal with conflicting priorities and to work under pressure with minimum supervision, whilst also demonstrating initiative and the ability to learn new skills.

Qualifications required

You will hold a minimum of A-levels, or equivalent qualification, or proven professional work experience.
