Do you have a passion for enhancing the employability of postgraduate research students?
We are seeking a proactive individual with excellent interpersonal skills and relevant work experience to establish and lead a new placements and employability training offer for postgraduate research students across the White Rose Doctoral Training Partnership (WRDTP). You will have primary responsibility for the leadership and coordination of a work placement scheme in which all WRDTP funded students will be expected to participate. You will also contribute to the development and organisation of employability training to social sciences research students.
Funded by the Economic and Social Research Council, the WRDTP is an established partnership with an excellent track record of collaboration across our partner universities – the University of Leeds, University of York, University of Sheffield, University of Bradford, University of Hull, Manchester Metropolitan University and Sheffield Hallam University. The core mission of the WRDTP is to deliver PhD scholarships and postgraduate researcher training. In doing so, we seek to produce social sciences researchers with the interdisciplinary understanding and methodological expertise to address complex world problems.
This new role will help us to deliver a step change in our employability offer. You will have a strong interest in (and preferably experience of) the postgraduate employment market and the delivery of student placements within an education setting. Most importantly, you will be able to demonstrate enthusiasm for engaging students, staff and employers in placement activities.
We’re one of the best not-for-profit organisations to work for in the UK. The University’s Total Reward Package includes a competitive salary, a generous Pension Scheme and annual leave entitlement, as well as access to a range of learning and development courses to support your personal and professional development.
We build teams of people from different heritages and lifestyles from across the world, whose talent and contributions complement each other to greatest effect. We believe diversity in all its forms delivers greater impact through research, teaching and student experience.
