Research & Enterprise at Queen’s University Belfast is currently seeking to appoint an exceptional candidate to the post of Research Quality Manager who will be responsible for managing or contributing to initiatives to enhance and optimise published research quality, environment and culture at the University, in line with the Research & Innovation Strategic Priority of Strategy 2030.
Working with a broad suite of qualitative and quantitative evidence, the role holder will build a strong understanding of the University’s research base relative to peer institutions across the UK sector, and contribute to ongoing evaluation, analysis and decision making in relation to research activity at Queen’s. Utilising this knowledge and expertise, they will design and implement interventions to support the academic community to optimise research quality, including through external benchmarking exercises such as university league tables and national research assessment programmes. They are also responsible for ensuring that research information is used responsibly at Queen’s, and that the University adheres to best practice in responsible research assessment.
The successful candidate must have, and your application should clearly demonstrate that you meet the following criteria:
Honours degree or equivalent qualification or substantial relevant experience working in a similar role.
Substantial relevant experience to include:
Knowledge and understanding of the current issues, trends and challenges facing the HE sector, including the strategic priorities of research-intensive universities or equivalent research performing organisations.
