London South Bank University are excited to be recruiting for the position of Public Health Evaluation and Impact Manager, to work within LSBU’s NIHR funded PHIRST South Bank Centre (Public Health Intervention Responsive Studies Team).

The purpose of the Public Health Evaluation and Impact Manager post is to co-ordinate the delivery of a programme of evaluation projects across the UK. This is one of eight UK Centres commissioned until at least Aug 2025 to work alongside local governments to co-produce and conduct public health evaluation of existing or planned interventions. The Centre presents an exciting opportunity to produce robust evidence to inform future policy-making and commissioning decisions both locally and nationally.

You will work as part of our PHIRST Centre team and alongside academics from across the University to plan, co-ordinate and ensure effective and timely delivery of all PHIRST evaluation projects. You will ensure effective liaison and communication with academics and work with Local Authorities to facilitate the planning and co-production of each evaluation. You will be responsible for ensuring an appropriate public engagement strategy is in place and delivered for the PHIRST Centre and within each evaluation and ensure the needs of diverse communities and health inequalities are considered within each evaluation.

This is a full-time fixed term post until July 31st, 2025, with a possibility of extended funding beyond this period.

About You:

The postholder will have a sound knowledge of public health priorities and delivery mechanisms across the UK and be skilled in collaborative working. They will be skilled in project management and be able to ensure multiple projects are delivered on time and within budget. You will understand academic priorities around ensuring research impact and sustainability and have insight into how this can be achieved at both a project and Centre level. You will understand the importance of public and patient involvement in research and strategies for ensuring this.

You will have an MSc in a relevant discipline (public health, health psychology, health promotion or other appropriate life sciences subject) or equivalent professional qualifications or experience.
