We are looking to appoint a Postdoctoral Researcher to join the Centre for Suicide Research at Oxford University Department of Psychiatry (previously led by Professor Keith Hawton, and now Professor Seena Fazel). The Centre undertakes a wide range of research projects on the epidemiology, causes, treatment and prevention of suicidal behaviour. The post is based in the Department of Psychiatry at the Warneford Hospital, Oxford.
The post is for a fixed term (funded to 31st March 2025).
You will be responsible for the co-ordination and running of this project, including managing the research database and preparing statistical analyses of data and preparing reports on the findings. In addition to being central to the success of the centre activities, you will develop your own research depending on your interests and abilities.
You will have or be close to the completion of a PhD/DPhil or other doctoral-level qualification in epidemiology, statistics or research techniques or a relevant discipline. With advanced statistical knowledge and proven expertise in statistical analysis (including multivariate analysis and data management) you will have experience in relevant software packages, e.g., SPSS/STATA and R. Good writing skills are essential, as is the ability to contribute new ideas for research projects and research income generation.
