The role
The Global Lounge is a multifunctional, campus-based hub for our globally - oriented activities, promoting and celebrating multiculturalism, as well as inspiring students to study and work abroad.
The role holder will be primarily responsible for supporting organisation and delivery of cultural and community building activities focusing on celebrating diversity as well as building communities. Responsibilities will also include supporting all other activity in the Global Lounge, i.e. year round event programme including welcome and vacation events, Open Days and events open to the public.
What will you be doing?
Together with Global Lounge Coordinator ensure that a comprehensive and exciting programme is in place to celebrate cultures and diversity. You will be responsible for running community building programmes such as Language Café and Travel the world series. You will work closely with Bristol SU, societies, individual students and staff.
Responsibilities: co-organising and running events and activities, creating content summary for promotion, liaison with stakeholders, ensuring supplies for events are secured.
Supporting Global Lounge Coordinators to run Global Lounge Ambassador Scheme, which employs 50 students to support Global Lounge activities.
Responsibilities: recruitment, training, scheduling, payments and development of ambassadors.
The role holder will be supporting all aspects of running a physical space of the Global Lounge and its operations, supporting other team members with delivery of events all year round, covering duties of Front of House and managing Global Lounge enquiry inboxes.

Flexibility, adaptability, highly developed organisational skills, thinking on your feet and being able to work under pressure are key characteristics to thrive in the role.
Event support experience and a good understanding and experience of dealing with people from different nationalities and cultural backgrounds are essential.
