Queen Mary University of London - Wolfson Institute of Population Health - Institute Director's Office

Location: London
Salary: £27,979 to £30,685 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
Hours: Full Time
Contract Type: Permanent
Placed On: 26th February 2024
Closes: 12th March 2024

About The Role

Applicants are invited for an Administrative Assistant/Receptionist to join us in the Wolfson Institute of Population Health. You will join an experienced administrative team, providing a professional and courteous service.

The role consists of two key areas of support. On the Administrative Assistant side, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the efficient running of our centres, whether through engagement with new colleagues in the recruitment and onboarding process or ensuring that both internal and external stakeholders have a seamless experience when attending meetings, events, or conferences (including registrations, catering arrangements etc).

Within the Receptionist role, you will play a crucial role in creating a welcoming environment and will create a helpful, positive experience to all visitors to our Institute. You will ensure all visitors are aware of the relevant access and safety procedures on entering, whilst ensuring all room booking requests are actioned and monitored.

Due to the nature of this role, you will need to be based on site. However, that does not reduce our commitment in trying to provide flexibility, where possible, to enable candidates to balance any commitments outside of work.

About You

As first point of contact for the Institute, you will set the tone for how we engage with stakeholders. Therefore, you will be driven by providing an engaging, customer-focused service, developed through your background in a front of house capacity.

You will see this role as an opportunity to build upon your current, demonstrable experiences in providing a full range of administrative duties. Any previous involvement in financial administration (purchase orders, etc) is beneficial, but we will provide training if you do not have this.

Whatever stage your career is at, this position will suit a candidate with excellent people skills, who is a genuine team player and with a passion for delivering a first-class service.
