Our Human Resources Business Partnering team is highly valued for the quality of its HR advice and support. We’re excited to be introducing a dedicated post focusing on change management and workforce planning at a busy and exciting time for the University.

Are you an experienced HR professional who is passionate about shaping the future of an organisation through effective staffing strategies?

Main duties and responsibilities

We’re seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to keep a keen eye on our changing student numbers and recruitment patterns in order to develop, plan and forecast staffing resourcing needs at the University. Building relationships with SBUs enhanced by close working with our HR Business Partners, you will support the preparation of appropriate recruitment campaigns, recruitment documentation, reorganisation plans and succession-planning needs.

You will also assist managers and be involved at an early stage in identifying the HR implications of change management strategies, including providing advice and guidance on the review of structures, redundancies, consultation documents, supporting the implementation of agreed changes with the HR Business Partners and meeting with recognised trade unions and staff as required. As our change management specialist, you will identify and circulate best practice advice to HR colleagues and liaise closely with other members of the HR Management Team to ensure consistency of application of HR policies and practices across the University.

Skills and experience required

You will have HR Manager or HR Business Partner experience, advising and supporting managers on employee relations and employment law matters, and substantial proven HR change management experience, such as internal reorganisations, redundancies, restructures, TUPE-transfers. Your workforce planning experience will include forecasting workforce needs and drafting workforce plans and strategies as well as implementing the initiatives to ensure the organisation’s plans are met.

You’ll have good presentation skills with the ability to convey complex information in a way that is understood and helpful to a variety of audiences including senior management. We’re looking for someone who can develop professional working relationships, with the ability to influence, negotiate and persuade colleagues. A methodical approach demonstrating attention to detail and the ability to work independently whilst contributing to the team and demonstrating consistency are essential for this role.

Qualifications required

You will be educated with a minimum of a degree or equivalent qualification, or substantial proven work experience. You will need a CIPD Qualification and CIPD Membership.
