The University of Plymouth, a leading University in the South West, is seeking to recruit an Electrical Systems Manager to work as part of our Estates team. Estates and Facilities have exciting and ambitious plans for the development of the University Estate. The ‘Master Plan’ includes the recently opened landmark InterCity place; an 11 story building overlooking Plymouth Railway Station, and a new Engineering and Design Facility on the western edge of the main Plymouth campus. We are looking for an Electrical Systems Manager to join the team and be an integral part of managing and maintaining our evolving estate.
The University is a multi-site operation with a sizeable proportion of its activities taking place on or close to the main campus in Plymouth, which is where this role is based. This will be a site-based role, where, as the electrical systems manager, you will take responsibility for the Universities electrical systems and its associated assets, policies, processes and safe systems of work.
A major focus of the role is on planned and reactive maintenance works, where you will manage multiple contractors. This includes, but is not limited to lighting, power, fire alarms, lifts, generators, access control and portable appliance testing.
The Electrical Systems Manager will form an integral part of the Estates team and will ensure that maintenance and project works are compliant with appropriate legislation and regulations.
You will require a thorough understanding, knowledge and experience of Electrical Systems.

This is a full-time position working 37 hours per week on a permanent basis.
