The Opportunity

This post represents an exciting opportunity to join the Library’s Academic Services Team, part of the Information and Digital Services (IDS) directorate.

The post leads the development of quality researcher-focused library services. It also promotes open research, effective scholarly communications, and delivers researcher training. It is a varied role working within a supportive team.

You will hold an undergraduate degree or postgraduate qualification in library or information management, and experience supporting Library service users. You will also understand the open research publishing landscape, including publisher open access policies, “read and publish” journal subscription deals and licenses, and how open access is linked to Research Excellence Framework (REF). Knowledge of repository and current information research systems is desirable, along with experience of providing scholarly communications advice to research staff. The post will work with experienced academic and professional colleagues to advocate for open research, providing an excellent opportunity for a qualified Librarian to move into professional work, or into a role that supports research.
