Senior Events Manager

If so, we have a newly created role in our team that we'd like to talk to you about. This role will lead our Events team and be responsible for creating and delivering our global events strategy. You are a strategic thinker who understands how events can bring our content and colleagues together with our customer communities through an exciting programme of physical, virtual, and hybrid events that position Cambridge as educational thought-leaders in teaching, learning, and assessment.

About the role  

As a vital part of our growing global marketing team, you will design events that build and nurture customer relationships, gain recognition and generate leads. Central to this Senior Marketing Events Manager role is the ability to coordinate and influence multiple stakeholder groups, establishing governance and metrics so that we can demonstrate the positive customer impact of our event activities.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Creating a global marketing events strategy, collaborating across global and regional marketing teams to define deliverables, budgets, and success measures.
  • Executing global marketing events programme, delivering on global marketing strategies and objectives, optimising budget allocation and event income.
  • Establishing a customer-centric planning framework for diverse event formats, ensuring desired experiences and outcomes throughout the event journey.
  • Leading and developing a high-performing events team responsible for all event types, fostering development and impactful contributions to the business
  • Implementing process, training, and governance frameworks for efficient, impactful, and sustainable global and local event operations.
  • Developing a performance measurement framework for events, analysing ROI, setting KPIs and driving continuous improvements through insight, data, and experiments.

  • Demonstrate a track record of delivering international event strategies, ideally in large, global organisations.
  • Have excellent project, budget, and organisational skills with a focus on delivering to time, budget, and quality standards.
  • Be collaborative, bringing colleagues together to sharing event expertise, build relationships, and encourage innovation.
