We seek an experienced fundraiser to develop, deliver and manage Public Sector funding applications and to oversee financial, audit and administration requirements for Public Sector Funding claims.
We welcome applications from candidates with experience of developing, writing and submitting funding applications and familiarity with UK public sector funding bodies and application processes. The Public Sector Fundraiser will be responsible for scoping funding opportunities and alerting GWCT staff to opportunities and deadlines, for working with staff across the organisation to discuss and develop project ideas for practical and academic projects, and for managing submission of applications. The role will include overseeing budget preparation on funding bids, submission of project claims and reports, and regular liaison with project leads, the Director of Research and Chief Finance Officer on project expenditure.
Key to success will be developing collaborations, inspiring innovative thinking, and growing profile and capacity through successful projects. The successful applicant will work with key partners and stakeholders which include universities and research institutes, European partners through collaborative research programmes such as Horizon, NGOs, government departments and arms-length-bodies, and Farmer Clusters and Environmental Farmer Groups.
Candidates will have a passion for and good understanding of environmental science and wildlife conservation. They should have demonstrable success in external grant capture, collaboration and budgetary skills.
