An exciting opportunity has arisen to work as Alliance Manager in the Centre for Energy Ethics (CEE) within the School of Philosophical, Anthropological and Film Studies at the University of St Andrews. Working closely with the Alliance Director, Communications Officer, Digital Communications Assistant, the wider leadership team, Centre Director, and the wider Centre Team, the post holder will provide pro-active leadership and support to ensure the smooth administration of day-to-day operations, projects, and events by the recently launched research Alliance.
The role holder will have experience of working in a fast-paced environment to provide a high standard of service and project delivery. They will have excellent organisational, numerical, administrative, and communication skills and have experience in finance administration. They will be a strong team player with good interpersonal skills, a highly motivated self-starter who is able to plan, organise and prioritise their workload. In fulfilling the role, they will be expected to proactively liaise with researchers across Scotland’s Universities as well as with cross-sector stakeholders. Candidates for whom line management has not been a core responsibility in their previous roles yet can demonstrate relevant skills are also encouraged to apply.
Launched in October 2023, the Scottish Research Alliance for Energy, Homes and Livelihoods brings together Scotland’s universities and involves collaborators in industry, business, policy, and community organisations. As a catalyst for cross-sector research collaborations, the Alliance’s provides research leadership and early career researcher training, while also striving to accelerate grant capture to address Scottish Government priorities on an inclusive and equitable transition to a Net Zero future. The Alliance is funded by the Scottish Funding Council, delivers about 8 events per year, an annual Emerging Research Leaders Programme, and administers several seed funds.
