The ESRC Doctoral Partnership (DTP) is currently seeking a part-time Administrative Assistant on to support the smooth running of key functions within the DTP. This role involves working on a wide range of financial processes, advising on student funding opportunities and providing administrative and clerical support to the Consortium Manager, Centre Administrator and Cohort Development Officer. You will deliver a high-quality service to all you engage with.
The successful candidate will primarily liaise with the PhD student cohort in relation to expense claims, funding applications, conferences and events. The successful candidate will have a working knowledge and understanding of Financial Regulations, preferably in a University setting.
Other essential skills needed for the post are excellent administration and organisational skills, good written and verbal communication skills, and a good knowledge of Microsoft IT packages.
This is a great opportunity for an individual seeking to extend and further develop their skills in an academic environment, whilst supporting an accredited Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) Doctoral Training Partnership.
You will be educated to GCSE level (including a grade C or above in English and Mathematics) or equivalent with experience of working in an administrative role. The successful candidate will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills combined with the ability to organise a busy and varied workload to agreed deadlines whilst working flexibly as part of the ESRC DTP team. Excellent attention to detail and a sound knowledge of IT packages (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook) are essential for the role.
