This is an exciting opportunity to work at Brighton and Sussex Medical School. The Deputy Research Manager role will make important contributions to the development of the research portfolio of the school. The post holder will be responsible for supporting the School Research Manager in overseeing and managing a wide range of research activities and will also work closely with the Director of Research and Knowledge Exchange in delivering a range of research projects.
The post-holder will work with the School’s Research Manager to help implement the School’s research strategy and will be responsible for helping to manage and deliver the key research objectives. The successful applicant will play a key role in the preparations for the next Research Excellence Framework (REF) submission in 2029 by accurately collating key information, supporting colleagues to deliver research impact and knowledge exchange activities and helping to build a positive research culture at BSMS.
To excel in this role, you should have strong research and analytical skills, excellent organisational, communication and project management abilities, and relevant experience to work collaboratively and confidently with a range of diverse stakeholders, using negotiating and influencing skills to achieve successful outcomes. This role would suit highly organised and motivated applicants with an understanding of the research processes and its infrastructure in a Higher Education setting.
