The Role: The Academic Programmes Coordinator is responsible for the coordination and administration of the V&A/RCA History of Design Programme (MA & PhD), the V&A’s Collaborative Doctoral Partnerships award, cohort development events for the V&A’s community of PhD researchers, and the V&A’s Doctoral Placements scheme. The post holder will support the continued development and evolution of MA and PhD programmes, and work with the V&A’s academic faculty, wider VARI team and external academic partners to enhance the V&A student experience and ensure students are fully embedded within the V&A community.
The post requires considerable organisational, administrative, financial and interpersonal skills. The post holder will liaise with a wide range of individuals and groups across the Museum, including Collections, Conservation, Finance, Technology and Security. They will manage day-to-day programme expenditure, will be a primary point of contact for students, and will work closely with counterparts in academic institutions in areas such as timetabling and administration of relevant committees. The work will also require understanding of relevant funding regulations and involve keeping abreast of local and national developments in this area.
