An opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified and experienced Mechanical Project Engineer to join the University of Liverpool - a prestigious Russell Group university that is home to 22,000 students and over 6,000 academic and professional services employees.
You will report to the Senior Mechanical Engineer forming part of the Engineering Services Group led by and the Head of Engineering Services within the Estates Management Team under the stewardship of the Director of Estates and Infrastructure.
You will provide support to colleagues of Facilities, Residential and Commercial Services on all construction and maintenance related projects overseeing the process of projects being managed by the University’s approved consultants and contractors, with a wide range of value bands.
You will work closely with Facilities Residential and Commercial Services, Capital and Minor Works Project Managers and Mechanical/Electrical Consultants and Maintenance Surveyors to ensure projects are delivered to acceptable standards, within the agreed programme and within the approved budget allocation in a safe way following the Health and Safety policies of the University.
You will also oversee or on an audit basis the maintenance works undertaken by the University’s Measured Term Contractor to ensure that agreed quality and technical standards are met.
You will also assist Project Managers, Building and Quantity Surveyors with the commissioning and handover process to ensure that building facilities are fit for purpose when handed over to University departments and Facilities Residential and Commercial Services (FRCS).
