The Strategy & Planning Directorate is seeking to appoint a fixed term (until June 2027) Business Intelligence Developer to support the delivery of a University wide strategic project for the implementation of a new award management system including research costing, knowledge exchange, contracts, ethics and peer review.

The successful candidate will be educated to degree level or have equivalent experience developing management information reporting solutions using industry standard Business Intelligence (BI) methodologies and technologies (e.g. Agile, Qlik, PowerBI). In particular, redevelop the current suite of management reports within our flagship reporting tool (SUnBIRD), and in conjunction with the project team and relevant stakeholders agree requirements to continue and improve the quality and reach of management information in the Research and Awards Management area by providing a single and shared source for management information, delivered via a series of data marts built on the SUnBIRD platform and integrated with the new award management system.

Applicants are required to have a strong customer focus and be able to translate management reporting requirements from across the University into Business Intelligence reports, dashboards and visualisations that meet these requirements. The role will require an individual with robust data analysis and management information development expertise coupled with strong interpersonal and communication skills.

The post-holder will have a technical background with a proven record of accomplishment in BI design and development resulting in the successful delivery of bespoke management information, using Qlikview, Qlik Sense, PowerBI or other BI products. Ensuring the appropriate quality processes and procedures are followed to ensure the final deliverables of the projects complies with stakeholder requirements, the appropriate legislation, University policies and procedures, and industry best practice.

Additionally, the successful applicant should demonstrate the ability to work both as part of a project team as well as autonomously.
