Annual Leave: 30 days plus standard public holidays and an additional 4 days including the closure of our office between Christmas and New Year

Location: College Lane Campus, University of Hertfordshire 

The Support Team Leader will have responsibility for the delivery, implementation, operation and daily management of the Events, Audio Visual and Digital Media team (EAVDM) and hands-on’ practical work to contribute to the delivery of Library and Computing Services (LCS) Support. The post holder will be expected to ensure the effective development and day to day delivery and management of the team. 

Main duties and responsibilities

The Support Team Leader - EAVDM will have responsibility for the delivery, implementation, operation and daily management of the EAVDM team. They will need to work closely with the EAVDM Manager and Team Leaders within the department to support the wide range of University audio visual services.

You will also be responsible for the maintenance of the Audio Visual (AV) and Digital Media (DM) installations in University teaching and meeting rooms, video conference rooms, TV Studios and Digital Signage system. This will include planning for and carrying out the routine and procedures necessary to ensure the efficient operation of AV/IT systems, theatre equipment (including IT, AV, lighting and Sound and projection), networking infrastructure associated with this and media and IT equipment across the University Estate. 

This will also include providing effective customer service, processing of service requests, enquiries, bookings, complaints and client liaison relating to LCS services, using the organisations’ relevant enterprise systems, e.g. Web Help Desk

Skills and experience required

The successful candidate must have proven experience of leading/managing a front line AV/IT support service within a customer service organisation. This includes a good understanding/experience of technical operation, maintenance and delivery of AV, IT and Events.

You will have experience of effective performance management and a good working knowledge of relevant recognised standards. You will have knowledge/understanding of relevant audio visual systems to facilitate problem resolution across a wide range of AV installations throughout the organization.

Qualifications required

You will be educated with a minimum of a degree or equivalent qualifications or proven experience
