Applications are invited for an Events Officer to join the Communications Team in the Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences. This is an exceptional opportunity to lead a growing and diverse events programme that brings together leading researchers, healthcare professionals, and global experts to advance medical science and improve patient care worldwide.
The successful applicant will lead the planning, delivery and evaluation of a varied calendar of events, including seminars, alumni gatherings, public engagement activities, guest lectures, a department-wide conference in 2026, and hosting the Society for Academic Primary Care (SAPC) Annual Scientific Meeting in 2027. You'll work with internationally renowned scientists and healthcare leaders, managing prestigious events that shape the future of primary care.
As a central part of this role, you will manage relationships with VIPs, senior stakeholders and high-profile guests from across the healthcare and academic world, ensuring their experience of our events is welcoming, professional and expertly organised. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of event delivery and promotion - including budgeting, logistics, communications and reporting - and will help to develop our events strategy and resources, ensuring our approach is inclusive, efficient, and aligned with wider departmental goals.
You will bring demonstrable experience in planning and delivering events and excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to effectively engage with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. You will be confident working independently and as part of a team, have strong organisational and problem-solving skills, and understand relevant areas of compliance such as data protection and accessibility. A degree-level qualification or equivalent experience is essential.
You will be based in the Radcliffe Primary Care Building, Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences, Radcliffe Primary Care Building, Woodstock Road, Oxford, OX2 6GG as your normal place of work. Onsite attendance is essential as part of event delivery, though there will be the opportunity and scope to agree a pattern of regular remote working. Some evening and occasional weekend work will be required to support events outside of core hours.

This position is full time, but part time can also be offered at a minimum of four days per week.
