This is a fixed term appointment for 2 years/until November 2027
The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) is one of the foremost social science universities in the world, with a global reach and an international student intake. Student Services plays a central role in LSE’s central administration and our Student Service Centre (SSC), where the post is based, offers mission critical functions that are fundamental to the student experience and educational journey.
We are recruiting a fixed term, full-time Departmental Senior Student Adviser to join our central Departmental Student Advice Team. As your primary role, you will be responsible for delivering excellent pastoral, procedural and wellbeing advice to students, signposting to specialist services/teams when appropriate. You will complement, and add to, academic departments’ existing Academic Mentor advice landscape, ensuring a consistent advice and support approach. The successful candidate will work with the Departments of Media & Communications and International Development.
You will contribute to ensuring that the Team follows best professional and sector practice as well as contributing to the development of informative operational metrics to inform the continual improvement of services. You will support the Head of Departmental Advice Management in developing the strategy for centralised taught student advice management at LSE.
Candidates should have significant experience of providing student advice, support and casework management and a proven ability to use initiative and judgement to solve day to day issues and potentially complex problems with flexibility, timeliness and sensitivity. You will be highly motivated and committed to providing an outstanding level of student-focused service
