About the role

The Department of Metabolism, Digestion and Reproduction encompasses a broad spectrum of clinical specialties and academic disciplines across the four Divisions:

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Department as a Senior Teaching Fellow for the new MSc Computational Biomedicine programme (due to launch in September 2026). This new programme, delivered fully online plans to utilise online learning platforms and Virtual Reality (VR) to provide a dynamic and interactive learning experience and online community for students.

What you would be doing

The Senior Teaching Fellow will be responsible for the online learning and teaching on the MSc Computational Biomedicine programme. The post holder will work in closely with the Programme Director and Teaching Fellow on the programme to develop, enhance and keep up to date their Programme’s curriculum, teaching methods and materials, assessments and academic feedback to the students, and ensure continuity across the modules. They will play a pivotal role in the leading assessment and admissions processes for the MSc Computational Biomedicine. The post holder will be key to establishing new initiatives to enhance the student experience within the Department and Faculty.

The role will be responsible for developing innovative methods of online teaching delivery and work closely with the MDR and Faculty of Medicine e-learning technologists and Digital Education Office to maintain and develop online teaching.

What we are looking for

The post holder should hold a masters and PhD level qualification in a relevant subject (e.g. Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computational Systems Biology, Data Science, Biostatistics, Machine Learning, Mathematics, Physics or Computer Science)

The post holder will need a thorough understanding of educating students and be able to demonstrate a range of key concepts and research to students. In addition to supporting development and delivery of online postgraduate programmes.

This is a Full time fixed term post (2 years) based at our Hammersmith campus but may also be expected to travel to.
