About the role:
The Trusted AI Alliance is seeking a Head of Communications to lead its engagement, visibility, and strategic communications. This is an exciting opportunity to shape how one of Imperial’s most innovative cross-sector initiatives communicates its mission to advance ethical and trustworthy AI. The post-holder will develop and deliver the Alliance’s communications strategy, promote its research and partnerships, and lead on events, media relations, and stakeholder engagement across academia, industry, and policy. The role requires a strong communicator with experience in complex organisations, able to translate technical work into accessible messages and manage multiple high-profile projects.
What you would be doing:
As Head of Communications, you will lead the Alliance’s communications and engagement activities, ensuring its work is visible, accessible, and impactful. You will design and deliver a clear strategy to promote research outcomes, partnerships, and events, working closely with academic and industry partners. You will manage media relations, digital content, and public engagement, turning complex ideas into compelling stories. You will also oversee major events, campaigns, and outreach activities that connect the Alliance with policymakers, funders, and the wider public.
What we are looking for:
We are looking for an experienced communications professional who can combine strategic thinking with hands-on delivery. You should have a strong track record in managing communications and events across complex organisations, ideally within higher education, research, or innovation environments. You will be confident working with senior stakeholders and external partners, with excellent writing, organisational, and relationship-building skills. An interest in AI, technology, or the societal impact of research would be an advantage, as would experience supporting fundraising or partnership initiatives. Above all, we are seeking someone who can bring clarity, creativity, and purpose to how the Alliance communicates its work and vision.
What we can offer you:
