The Department of Earth Sciences is seeking an enthusiastic and proactive HR Administrator to join our friendly and dedicated HR team.
This new and exciting role offers an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their HR career in a varied, supportive and collaborative environment. The position is part-time at 0.6FTE and based in Central Cambridge, you will work closely with the HR Co-ordinator to deliver high-quality HR support across the department.
In this role, you will play a key part in supporting all aspects of the employee life cycle, ensuring a seamless HR experience for staff. You will also take ownership of administering the department's visitor process and contribute to a range of HR projects, including the Department's work related to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI). Within the small team, you will provide essential support to the HR Co-ordinator to help maintain smooth HR operations across the department, ensuring tact and discretion when dealing with confidential information.
The ideal candidate will be educated to A level standard/NVQ level 3 or have equivalent practical experience. You will bring experience working administratively in an HR area with a knowledge of HR policies and procedures and an ability to explain these clearly and effectively. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required, alongside a strong attention to detail and an ability to meet tight deadlines. Previous HR experience in a similar position dealing with complex issues in a changing and sometimes pressurised environment, would be advantageous.
