The Role
The Development, Alumni Relations and Engagement (DARE) team at Kingston University plays a vital role in delivering the University’s ambitions. We have a longstanding tradition of alumni giving, which is central to achieving our fundraising strategy. We are an ambitious team and have seen growth in individual giving income over recent years.
The Development Manager - Individual Giving plays a pivotal role in providing life-changing opportunities to students who need them most throughscholarships,access, and support programmes.
The post holder will maintain and grow our individual giving programme, which raises £200,000 annually, by delivering a data-led approach. This includes channels such as email, direct mail, SMS and telephone. Working closely with the Major Gifts team, you’ll also support the growth of a mid-level giving programme (e.g. donors capable of giving 3–4 figure gifts) and increase our legacy giving pipeline.
The Person
The post holder will have experience managing direct marketing and fundraising across multiple channels, including email, direct mail and telephone, meeting targets and delivering strong ROI. The ideal candidate can produce compelling communications and has delivered excellent stewardship programmes. Additionally, the postholder has strong project and people management skills, and high motivation to achieve outstanding results and ROI from individual giving.
Directorate/Function
Positioned in Academic Services, DARE works closely across the University and with external facing teams to embed alumni engagement into the University’s growth and innovation. This positioning reflects the University’s commitment to leveraging alumni engagement as a driver in our ambitious Town House strategy.

This is a full-time, permanent position with a starting salary from £45,025 per annum.
Working outside office hours, including evenings and weekends during the telephone campaign, is essential. Additional out-of-hours work for DARE and University events will be required, along with attending meetings on non-office days.
