We have a new opportunity for a Deputy Building and Facilities Manager to join the growing team at the Nuffield Department of Medicine, to provide a high level of support to the new Global Health Building, which is due to be completed in mid-2026.

Your key responsibilities will include assisting the Building and Facilities Manager, and capital projects team, ensuring the building is fully set-up and operational in time for building users to move in and assisting with the moving process as required. You will also assist with the operational delivery of the building’s FM services to the highest standards, managing relationships with cleaning, AV and equipment maintenance services, monitoring service standards and reporting on deviations from SLAs. You will be responsible for ensuring all relevant equipment and building systems are regularly maintained and tested, conducting H&S inductions and acting as the Building’s Deputy Fire Officer, DSE Assessor and Manual Handling Assessor.

It is essential that you are educated to at least GCSE standard or equivalent, along with demonstrable experience within FM services, preferably in a scientific or research environment. You will be able to work on own initiative and to prioritise work for self and teams, and you will have experience managing contractors providing maintenance functions. A professional qualification in facilities management, or related subject would be highly desirable.
