Senior Business Intelligence Analyst

Canterbury Christ Church University – Strategic Planning and Insight Directorate

Background of department/role
Join the dynamic Strategic Planning and Insight Directorate, where you'll play a key role in shaping the future of our institution. As part of the Business Insight team, you’ll help staff to use data more effectively to inform real improvements to the student experience and to support strategic planning, policy and operational efficiency across the university.

You’ll work within a small team of analysts that scope, build and maintain innovative data visualisations, dashboards and reports using cutting edge software and analytical techniques. Within the team you’ll be the lead member for one or more key areas of technical responsibility, ensuring knowledge and good practice is shared and implemented.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop distributed data reports and visualisations to provide data and insights at the point of need to support decision making across the University.
  • Lead in the development and upkeep of management information and reporting in tools such as Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Microsoft Excel, and T-SQL via SSMS.
  • Assume line management responsibilities for one of our more junior Business Intelligence Analysts.
  • Assist in the creation and delivery of training sessions and resources for report users, including user guides and documentation for published reports.
  • Work closely with the new Business and Planning Partners (BPPs) in their analytical support for the four Schools.
  • Analyse and interpret data on a bespoke basis to deliver clear, actionable insights to colleagues and fulfil Freedom of Information (FOI) and other external requests.

How will you work?
We are committed to supporting flexible methods of working wherever possible and this role is flexible and connected (Professional Services). The team work on a hybrid basis and it is expected that there will be a relatively even balance between time spent on and off campus (e.g. 3 days on-site and 2 days working from home). Campus attendance may vary across the year to align with the needs of our students, staff, and stakeholders.

How to apply
Closing date for applications: 17th of November 2025
Interviews: 20th + 21st of November 2025
