This is an exciting opportunity to join an established specialist team of dynamic and friendly project and programme delivery professionals supporting IT and business change at the University.

We are looking for a Senior Business Analyst to join Project Services, a part of the Information Services Group (ISG).  Our diverse project portfolio supports research, teaching and professional services. Our projects improve business efficiency, enhance student experience, maintain IT compliance and enable digital transformation. The Senior Business Analyst will lead the analysis for more complex and critical projects, and support the work of our Business Analysts.

The role has a hybrid working pattern, involving working on campus one to two days a week and when necessary for in-person meetings and activities. Working hours are ideally 35 hours per week, but we will consider flexible working requests. The role reports to one of our Team and Portfolio Managers.

What the job involves:

  • Leading engagement with business stakeholders to understand processes, challenges, and requirements through methods such as interviews, workshops, and surveys
  • Leading the elicitation, analysis, and documentation of business needs 
  • Translating business requirements into clear specifications for both technical and non-technical teams
  • Producing high-quality documentation, including business requirements, functional specifications, and supporting materials, to inform business cases and solution design
  • Developing effective, trusted relationships with partners within ISG and across the University
  • Supporting and coaching business analysts, including assuring outputs and providing constructive feedback to ensure consistent high-quality results
  • Defining and exemplifying best practice business analysis approaches, standards, processes and procedures
