About the Role
We are looking for a proactive Finance Officer to support the Purchase to Pay (P2P) team in Oncology. You will work closely with the Finance Assistants as well as the Purchase to Pay team leader to ensure accurate and timely Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Internal Trade transactions in line with University financial controls.
Key tasks include reviewing and approving purchase orders, help resolve purchasing issues and invoice holds, supplier set-ups, and amendments, as well as supporting invoice processing during busy periods. You will also assist with VAT exemption and import documentation, approve expense claims, and maintain accurate financial records.
The role involves generating sales invoices, processing internal recharges, preparing month-end journals and accruals, and helping improve financial procedures and dashboards across Oracle and SAP Concur. Building strong relationships with suppliers and central finance, along with guidance to Finance Assistants, are essential.
The post is offered on a full-time, fixed-term contract for 2 years in the first instance, based at the Radiobiology Research Institute, Churchill Hospital, Headington, Oxford OX3 7LJ.
About You
You will have experience in Accounts Payable or financial administration and be confident using computerised financial systems. GCSE-level education (or equivalent) and proficiency in Word, Excel, and databases are required.
You should be organised, communicative, able to work independently, and comfortable interpreting financial policies. Experience with Oracle Financials and SAP Concur is an advantage. Working towards an accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA) is desirable.
