The role
We are looking to appoint a Lecturer in Engineering to contribute primarily to the delivery of courses within the Future Transportation group, including Aerospace Engineering, Automotive Engineering and Railway Engineering.
You’ll have the requisite knowledge and ability to teach engineering design and the use of digital tools including CAD, CAM and CAE, with expertise in at least two of these. Ideally, we would like to talk with candidates whose background and experience allow them to contextualise their teaching to at least one of the fields within the group (aerospace, automotive or railway).
You should have demonstrable ability to create, lead, and deliver engaging and impactful teaching and learning experiences that align with our ethos of ‘knowledge applied’.
The school
The School of Engineering and Built Environment is arranged into a number of subject areas: Electrical, Electronic and Future Technologies, Mechanical Engineering, Future Transportation, Built Environment, and Energy, Infrastructure and Environment. We place equal emphasis on teaching and research, be it subject or pedagogic research into teaching Engineering, Physics and Built Environment to transform lives.
With excellent links to industry, we develop innovative products to improve the quality of lives, support the sustainable development of business and provide insights into fundamental questions about our universe.
Through our strong industry partners, we provide applied learning opportunities for our students and our graduates perform really well in the labour market.
Research, Innovation and Knowledge Exchange in the School has strong alignment with UKRI priority areas, such as Manufacturing the Future, Clean Technologies, AI and Robotics, as well as Digital Innovations for Health. We are a welcoming community where staff and students are encouraged to develop their careers and make a fulfilling impact.
