This is a fixed term role until 31 January 2028.
You may be based at any premises the University occupies and may be required to work at any University site or any other reasonable location where the University is undertaking its business. The university does have an agile working policy, and this requires the postholder to be based in the UK.
There is occasional evening or weekend working may be required.
About the department
The role sits within the CFO function which is responsible for driving the university’s commercial, finance, governance, transformation and project management activities. With the model of a centralised procurement, the Commercial and Procurement function is responsible for commercial and procurement activities across the University, ensuring best practice is adopted, resulting in high standards of performance, cost effectiveness, and resource efficiency. The team has leadership responsibility for procurement and, contract management and the institution’s procurement and commercial strategies.
About the role
This is a great opportunity to make a real contribution to the development of the centralised commercial and procurement function within UoG and to start a very rewarding career journey leading to an internationally recognised procurement qualification.
The job holder will support and learn from the procurement and commercial professionals in the team, working alongside them to ensure best value is achieved for the university through procurement, and generating income from commercial events, whilst maintaining excellent reporting and transparency of all processes, using a range of on-line tools and techniques such as the e-procurement portal and PowerBi
You will study for a CIPS Level 4 Procurement & Supply Chain Practitioner Apprenticeship and 20% of your work hours will be dedicated to ‘off the job’ training, including online lessons, seminars and course work and study.
