We are recruiting a Data Manager to join the NIHR BioResource Data Team, working on our rich and varied health-related data, responsible for ensuring the data is fit for analysis and available to health researchers worldwide.

About the job:

The Data Manager will work closely with NIHR BioResource colleagues, and research teams across the UK to ensure the smooth flow of accurate clinical, lifestyle and research data.

The goal is to have all data accurately captured in our bespoke databases and Clinical Data Management Software, so that it can be reported on and used for a wide range of research with confidence.

The role will require you to clean and prepare study data, write queries and update scripts as necessary; to log and report inconsistencies and inaccuracies, to system test and work with others to resolve data quality issues.

The role holder will also be required to act as one of the data provenance experts for the BioResource Data Team.

About you:

  • Experience of cleaning large data sets, coding rules to catch invalid data and converting data based on agreed coding schemes
  • Experience in the use of processes for managing and linking large datasets and of automating these processes

This appointment is full-time, 37 hours per week; part-time to 80% will be considered. Work – life balance is important, and we are open to discussion on flexible working, including hybrid working.

The post is available on a fixed-term basis for six months in the first instance. NIHR BioResource is funded by the National Institute for Health & Care Research (NIHR) on a 4-year funding cycle.

Our offices are on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus CB2 0QQ (approximately 2 miles south of the city centre).
