We are seeking to appoint enthusiastic and knowledgeable Associate Lecturers to join our academic team in the field of Food and Nutrition. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the delivery of high-quality, applied teaching, learning, and assessment across our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

Successful candidates will be required to teach in two or more of the following subject areas:

  • Nutrition, physiology and biochemistry
  • Nutrition through the life-course
  • Nutritional science
  • Food science and technology
  • Food science quality and sustainability
  • Food labelling and packaging

As an Associate Lecturer, you will be expected to deliver engaging, evidence-based teaching that supports student learning and development, contributing to both face-to-face and online delivery where required. You will participate in module delivery and assessment, ensuring content remains current, research-informed, and aligned with public health priorities and industry expectations.

You will join a collaborative and supportive team committed to delivering an outstanding student experience. We welcome applications from individuals with academic, clinical, or industry backgrounds who are passionate about nutrition and food education, and who are committed to shaping the next generation of professionals in this vital field.

We offer a diverse range of benefits and opportunities to pursue a rewarding and fulfilling career in a supportive environment.

The University currently enrols eligible academic staff into the Teachers’ Pension Scheme (TPS), a defined-benefit pension scheme.

Like many universities, we are facing well‑documented financial challenges and are entering a period of negotiation with our recognised Trade Unions, including consideration of pension affordability for modern universities. We remain committed to providing our staff with a competitive reward and benefit offer.

The role is not eligible for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker route so if you are an international applicant, you will need to ensure you have an appropriate visa to evidence the necessary right to work in the UK.
