About the Role
The Business Engagement Officer will support the development and management of relationships with employers, industry partners, professional bodies and external organisations. Working within the Strategic Development Team, the role will help create opportunities that strengthen employer engagement, enhance student employability and support the School's strategic objectives.
The postholder will coordinate employer engagement activities, support networking and partnership opportunities, facilitate employer participation in academic and co-curricular initiatives and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders. Working closely with the Business Engagement and Experiential Learning Manager and Experiential Learning Officer, the role will help ensure employer partnerships are translated into meaningful opportunities for students and staff.
About You
You will be educated to degree level or possess equivalent professional experience and have experience of stakeholder engagement, relationship management, partnership development or business-facing activity. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to develop productive relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
Experience of employer engagement, business development, partnerships or higher education would be advantageous. You will be organised, proactive and capable of managing multiple priorities while delivering a high standard of service and engagement.
About the School
The School of Business and Management (SBM) is made up of 5 departments, covering Accounting & Financial Management, Business & Society, Marketing, People & Organisations, and Business Analytics & Applied Economics. The School has approximately 3000 undergraduate students, 800 postgraduate taught students and 100 PhD students. The School is located within the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, which is comprised of five Schools that deliver the research and education activity of the Faculty.
