An opportunity has arisen within Research Services for a Research Finance Assistant Manager.
This full-time post is available immediately on a 12 months fixed term basis starting as soon as possible. This post will require you to work both from home and in the office, but this may be subject to change.
About the role
The role is within Research Finance, which provides overarching support, training and quality assurance for all research finance activity, including:
In this role you will take responsibility for key financial elements of the research project lifecycle, from initial costings to budget planning to in year monitoring of a portfolio. You will be providing a seamless financial service to academics and other research services colleagues.
We are looking for someone with experience in working in a relevant financial administrative role, preparing and analysing financial budgets. You will be able to work independently and have experience working under pressure and managing your time effectively. Additionally you will need good IT skills, being especially strong using spreadsheets and databases.

Research Development & Management and most Research Finance staff are managed and organised in seven clusters, either around a particular group of funders; Health, Bio-environment; Physical sciences and technology; Social sciences; Humanities; European/International and Cornwall research services. This particular post is based in the Health cluster, working on grants and projects mostly associated with the College of Medicine & Health.
